Kids & YA

Children’s Reading Room at the library.

Kid’s Room

Check out the colorful Kid’s Room where you will find a great selection of new and classic board books, picture books, chapter books, non- fiction, early readers, magazines, and graphic novels as well as children’s DVDs, audio books and music CDs.  Some special features in the children’s area include Book Boxes which kids can search through themselves to find books on favorite subjects such as dinosaurs, fairies and dragons; board books & picture books in a variety of languages; an extensive Fairy tale & Folklore section featuring books on local folklore as well as tales from around the world; and two computer stations where (when social distancing restrictions are lifted) kids can choose from a large variety of educational games.  You’ll also find a dragon named Fireball and perhaps most beloved of all Pete the Horse – a carousel horse painted by a local artist & author, that’s been a favorite at the Library since the 1950’s.

Young Adult Space

In the Young Adult Space you’ll find a cozy enclosed nook designed by a local artist where teens can hang out and read on the couch, borrow a chessboard and play a game or do school work at two small desks while having their own selection of fiction & nonfiction, graphic novels, dvds or cds right at their fingertips.
